On October 23, 2014 our beautiful son Christopher David Taylor III, "Trey", was born. Chris, Elynn and I absolutely adored him. Our lives were rocked to the core and forever changed when on February 13, 2015 we lost Trey suddenly and unexpectedly. He was 10 days shy of 4 months old. So many people from our community in South Florida wanted to offer support and through the help of Auntie Sara we found First Candle. Their mission of eliminating sudden infant death syndrome, sudden unexpected infant death and preventable stillbirths through education and research while supporting families like ourselves who have suffered loss is something that we not only feel very connected too but also feel was part of Trey's life mission. When Trey first passed a memorial page with First Candle was created. Since that time a lot of changes have happened on their website. Trey's original First Candle page can still be found directly through the original link but I decided to make one of their With Us Forever Memorial pages. After viewing other memorial pages I was inspired to share some of the happy memories we had with Trey.
Trey was beautiful from the minute he was born. Some babies have to grow into their cuteness but not Trey. He was adorable and perfect from the moment he entered the world. He loved his pacifier and we lovingly called him "paci boy". He was happiest swaddled and in his baby swing. His swing was battery powered and one day when the batteries ran out Chris modified the swing with an ac adapter to make it able to be plugged in. Trey smiled a lot and loved his baths. The last happy memory I have of him was giving him his bath and singing to him as he smiled and cooed to no end. He celebrated Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Elynn's 4th Birthday with us. For Halloween he was a baby Superman. He met Santa Claus. He had a best friend named Dayton. He loved his Mom and would follow me with his eyes wherever I went. He was my little grocery shopping buddy. He loved to hear his Dad play guitar and if he was fussy he would instantly calm down to it. He also loved to play his little keyboard with his feet. He seemed to have the music bug even at such a young age. Elynn adored him and treated him like her real life baby doll. Once she even put him in her doll bassinet and sang to him as she rocked away. She never called him by his name. To her he was "Baby Brother". He helped us buy our minivan. He watched most of the 2014 season Florida Gator football games. He was named after his Peepaw who he is hopefully with right now. We think of him every day and feel his presence whenever we see a dragonfly. Sometimes I think I hear him call my name. He will always be a part of our family. Elynn will never forget him and Theodore and Everly will grow up knowing they have a brother. Trey if you can hear us .. We love you bud!
