Mina Naomi Schoenhaus was born on January 17, 2013 at 4:12 a.m. From the moment she entered the world, her beauty, sweetness, and personality were abundantly clear. She had a full head of hair, a hearty cry, and a healthy appetite. In addition to mom and dad, the nurses all fell in love with her. For the next twelve hours, she filled the room with joy. Grandparents and brother Max visited, and other grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins could not wait to join. Unfortunately, around 4 pm that same day, Mina lacked oxygen for no apparent reason. This caused a traumatic brain injury. She was transferred to world renowned Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, but they could not improve her condition after two days. On January 20, 2013, at 2:45 a.m. (about an hour short of her third full day), Mina died peacefully in mom and dad's arms. From that point forward, our family committed to the SIDS cause. We hope and pray that Mina's life makes a difference for others, as she did for her family in just a short period of time - way too short. We love you Mina and will forever and ever.
